Prince Albert Crane Operator Classes - For the operators and the supervisors, new and current, the crane operator training course is suitable for all. Course content addresses relevant provincial, state and federal safety regulations. The training's first part comprises comprehensive in-class instruction and test. After that is a hands-on customized session with practical instruction and evaluation.
Course content applies to all types and categories of overhead lifting machinery. Particular instruction will concentrate on aspects of crane operation used at the workplace of the trainee. Upon completion of the course, individuals training would learn how to operate particular overhead lifting devices, attachments and related parts in a safe and efficient manner.
The purpose of the operator course is to identify any potentially dangerous habits which an operator may develop when operating an overhead crane. Costly damage to products and equipment could be prevented with proper practices. Training lessens the likelihood of a workplace injury or incident happening.
The course would encompass approximately eight hours of classroom instruction with a couple of hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants will be graded on their understanding of training material through an evaluation of their practical knowledge and written tests. The minimum acceptable score is eighty percent.
In the in-class session, participants would learn applicable causes of occurrences and damages, legislation and guidelines, internal responsibility, hazard awareness, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, basic equipment and design principles, safe hosting/operating techniques, pre-shift equipment inspections, equipment applications/rigging, kinds of hardware, hitches and angles, operator/pedestrian safety, hand signals for slingers and operators, turning/flipping loads safely.
The practical training and evaluation part of the course should be pre-scheduled. This customized portion of the training will be held at the trainees' facility. The duration of this practical training part is one to two hours. Two operators at a time will be trained by the instructor about skills like for instance right rigging practices, safe operation and planning the lift.
Upon completing the in-class instruction and the practical operating instruction and evaluation, the trainee would write a test. Signed safety rules would be required from each and every participant. Trainees who are successful will be provided with individual wallet certificates. A framed wall certificate will be provided to the company.
