Prince Albert Telehandler Training Courses

Prince Albert Telehandler Training Courses

Prince Albert Telehandler Training Courses - Employers are responsible for making sure that their supervisory and operating personnel are trained to work proficiently with telehandler machinery. The competence level of staff should be assessed. If deficiencies are found, employers must provide training so that staff attain the necessary level of skill. The level of responsibility of the individual should be taken into consideration when training is offered. Effective training would solve any deficiencies in the understanding, knowledge and skills of telehandler operators and supervisors. Training could be undertaken by hiring an external training provider or through in-house sessions. An assessment at the completion of the training period would determine if the learning objectives have been met or not.

Regulations and guidelines for the basic telehandler operator testing and training are set by federal, state/provincial and local regulators. Basic training does not address such topics as the lifting of persons, the lifting of suspended loads, the operation of rotating machinery or using other attachments. Further training should be undertaken if such tasks are required on the work location.

Inspection and maintenance
Like whichever machine, a telehandler requires effective maintenance. The equipment inevitably will suffer wear over time. Correct maintenance is important to ensuring safe operation of the telehandler machinery. Inspections and checks are important to ongoing maintenance procedures. Operators should have machine-specific training in order to rectify, monitor and prevent problems associated with deterioration, damage and wear. Employees need competence and experience in both periodic and breakdown maintenance. The preventive maintenance instructions of the manufacturer must be viewed seriously and followed, considering such factors as environmental circumstances in the work setting and frequency of use.

The responsibility for ensuring that the telehandler and its attachments are in good working order lies with both the owner and the user of the machine. Pre-use inspections are normally done by the user, whilst general maintenance is usually performed by the telehandler owner.
